Local Musicians Unite for Free Concert Promoting Mental Health Awareness

Free Oct. 23 concert in Bozeman highlights connection, conversation and mental wellness

BOZEMAN, Montana — In recognition of World Mental Health Day on Oct. 10, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Montana and local musician and mental health advocate Jason DeShaw are encouraging community conversations around mental health. They are inviting residents to attend Hope in Harmony, a free community concert focused on mental health awareness and wellness on Oct. 23 at The Ellen Theatre in Bozeman.

The event will bring together local and regional musicians to celebrate the power of connection, community and hope. Featured performers include DeShaw, Kostas and Paige & The People’s Band. The concert begins at 7 p.m.

Mental health challenges affect individuals and families in every community. Through Hope in Harmony, BCBSMT aims to create an opportunity for people to come together, foster understanding and reduce mental health stigma.

“Music has a unique ability to bring people together and create meaningful connections,” said Lisa Kelley, BCBSMT market lead and president. “As communities across Montana observe World Mental Health Day, we hope this event serves as a reminder that no one is alone and that supporting mental wellness starts with open conversations and strong community connections.”

BCBSMT is also exploring opportunities to connect local schools with Bring Change 2 Mind, a national organization dedicated to ending mental health stigma and supporting youth through school-based programs.

All community members are invited to attend.
