Creating Connection Through Art

The Holter Museum of Art in Helena is expanding opportunities to connect, heal and be inspired through art.

With help from a Blue ImpactSM grant from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Montana, the Holter Healing Arts program will bring its art carts and hands-on art sessions to more health care facilities and expand workshops and programming for youths, older people and veterans.

One of these programs is the Afterschool Teen Arts Council for teen artists. “They build community through art,” says Christina Barbachano, executive director of the Holter Museum of Art. “So, not only are they using art to solve their own challenges that they might be working through, they also use art to solve community needs.”
