HELENA, Montana — Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Montana’s Blue Impact℠ grant program is accepting 2026-27 applications through May 1. These grants and other BCBSMT community investments directly target the social and economic factors that play a role in health and wellness.
More information about Blue Impact grants and the link to apply are available here.
“Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Montana is deeply committed to improving the health and wellbeing of communities across our state,” said BCBSMT President Lisa Kelley. “Through Blue Impact, we partner with nonprofit organizations working to address the factors that shape health, from economic opportunity and food security to safe neighborhoods and access to essential care. We are proud to support the innovative efforts of local organizations that deliver sustainable, measurable results.”
The Blue Impact grant program is one way BCBSMT supports communities, in addition to microgrants and sponsorships, in-kind donations, employee volunteerism and disaster relief.
Blue Impact invests in and partners with nonprofits that offer sustainable, measurable programs to support Montana residents in five focus areas:
Economic Opportunity and Stability: Addressing issues such as poverty, removing barriers to employment, providing good jobs and upskilling.
Food Access and Nutrition: Supporting efforts to reduce hunger and increase access to nutritious food.
Neighborhood and Built Environment: Focusing on affordable, healthy housing, as well as access to transportation and physical activity.
Locally Defined Health Solutions: Addressing hyperlocal health and human service needs.
Optimal Health Outcomes: Helping close care gaps, specifically around six priority areas — immunizations, diabetes care, cardiovascular care, behavioral health, early detection cancer screening and maternal and infant health.
To apply for a 2026-27 Blue Impact grant, complete the one-step application process by May 1. Applicants must have 501(c)(3) status. All submissions will be comprehensively reviewed. Funding decisions will be communicated to all applicants by early June.
