What Is an HRA?

A couple looks at Health Reimbursement Arrangement options offered by an employer.

A Health Reimbursement Arrangement or Account (HRA) is an employer-owned and employer-funded account. Employees can use its funds to pay for eligible medical expenses like deductibles, coinsurance and copays.

While it’s a benefit for employees that allows you to use the funds to pay for eligible medical expenses, there is no real tax value like there is with an Health Spending Account or Flexible Spending Account.
