​Some important information about Part B:

  • ​Part B covers about 80% of your eligible Medicare expenses.
  • ​Prescription drug coverage is not included in Part B.  
  • ​Signing up for Part B means you can no longer add funds to a health savings account (this applies to Part A too).

​Cost considerations with Part B:

  • ​Most people pay a monthly premium for Medicare Part B, which is usually deducted from their Social Security benefits.  
  • ​With Part B, you must pay the monthly premium no matter your other plans.
  • As with Part A, you are responsible for 20% of the costs Medicare Part B does not cover.
