Electronic Payment And Remittance Delivery Delay

Feb. 14, 2020

We’ve identified a system issue that’s affecting electronic payment and remittance transactions for some electronic professional and institutional claims that were processed by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Montana (BCBSMT) on Feb. 12, 2020 and Feb. 13, 2020.*

Due to the above issue, providers enrolled for Electronic Funds Transfer (835 EFT) and delivery of Electronic Remittance Advice (835 ERA) and Electronic Payment Summary (EPS) files from BCBSMT may experience a delay in receiving EFT deposits and ERA/EPS files.

EFT Expected Delivery (additional delay due to legal banking holiday on Monday, Feb. 17, 2020):

  • Feb. 12, 2020 funds are expected to deposit in provider bank accounts on Feb. 18, 2020.
  • Feb. 13, 2020 and Feb. 14, 2020 funds are expected to deposit in provider bank accounts on Feb. 19, 2020.

ERA/EPS Expected Delivery:

  • Feb. 12, 2020 files with expected delivery date of Feb. 13, 2020, have been processed and will deliver on Feb. 14, 2020.
  • Feb. 13, 2020 and Feb. 14, 2020 files are expected to deliver on Feb. 15, 2020.

The above expected delivery dates are subject to change as we are working to resolve this issue as soon as possible. If you use a billing service/clearinghouse, please share this information with your vendor.

A follow-up notice will be posted in the News and Updates once this issue has been resolved. We appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconvenience this issue may have caused.

*This issue does not impact 835 EFT or ERA delivery for Medicare Advantage claims.
