— Collette Hanson, President

"There’s a saying Montana is really one big, small town. Everyone knows each other, neighbors help each other, and a sense of community is rooted in all of us. Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Montana takes great pride in supporting communities across our state and making investments to improve access to and the affordability of health care."

Access to Care

Supporting access to quality, cost-effective care is at the heart of everything we do. In 2022, we continued to expand coverage options, close gaps in preventive care, and invest in organizations that advance equitable access to critical services.

  • Providing community-based access to immunizations, basic oral care and other services with the Care Van® program.
  • Collaborating with providers to focus on behavioral health, early cancer detection, immunizations, diabetes management, cardiovascular care, and maternal and infant health.
  • Innovating and partnering to support children’s mental health needs.

Community Impact

Through our community investments, business choices and support for employee volunteers, we strive to advance economic opportunity, food security and other factors that create pathways to health.

  • Investing in community initiatives that support economic opportunity and security.
  • Helping Montana food banks address hunger and nutrition.
  • Contributing to relief efforts in response to floods.
  • Supporting employee volunteers with recognition and matching dollars under Blue CorpsSM

Operating Responsibly

Operating with integrity and respect is at the core of how we do business with our members, customers and suppliers and as a corporate citizen in our communities.

  • Championing diversity, equity and inclusion.
  • Leading with ethics.
  • Embracing sustainable practices.
  • Promoting employee wellness.
