Prescription drugs are a vital part of your health care coverage. If you have prescription benefits through us, go to your Blue Access for MembersSM account to learn more about your prescription drug benefits.

Covered Drugs

A drug list is a list of drugs covered by your prescription drug benefit. How much you pay depends on the drug, if it’s on the list and at what coverage level, or tier. Find coverage and cost information for your prescriptions by logging in to BAMSM.

Where to Fill Your Prescriptions

Medical Versus Prescription Benefits

Health plans may administer medical and pharmacy coverage separately for some drugs. Some drugs are covered under your medical plan instead of your pharmacy plan. These may include drugs given to you by a nurse or doctor given to you in a hospital or doctor’s office.

Care Management

Your prescription benefits include Pharmacy Care Management1. PCM can help answer questions you may have about your prescription drugs. It may also help you find ways to save on your out-of-pocket costs.

The program helps you get the best results from the medicines you take. A member of our team may reach out to talk with you about the medicines you take to make sure your treatment is safe and works well. For more information about how PCM works, get the member flier .

1  Coverage is based on the terms and limits of your benefit plan. Not all plans may have the PCM program review. For plans that do not have the PCM review, members can call the number on their Member ID card to speak to a pharmacist. See your plan materials for details.

Note:  As of Jan. 1, 2020, pharmacists can bill you for professional services (not for dispensing drugs). Services include in-depth consultations. These services would be covered under your medical benefits. The amount you pay would be the same as seeing a specialist, based on your benefits.
