Supporting Clients During Q4 Open Enrollment and Renewals

Applies to Fully Insured and Level-Funded Small Groups
Background: Open enrollment and renewal season often bring changes to group health plans. In our previous articles, we covered how to submit open enrollment changes, as well as renewal submission guidance in the Request Center. As groups begin preparing for the upcoming plan year, the focus shifts to helping them and our members understand their benefits and enrollment options. We have compiled resources to aid those conversations.
Highlight cost-sharing changes: If a group elects to make changes to its health plan, encourage administrators to review how those changes affect member cost-sharing responsibilities. Even small plan adjustments can impact deductibles, copays, coinsurance and out-of-pocket costs. Helping groups understand those changes can reduce confusion and support a smoother enrollment experience for members.
Benefits planning: Renewal season is also a good time for groups to review their benefits strategy. In addition to medical coverage, we offer a broad portfolio of Ancillary products, including dental, vision and supplemental health. These options can complement medical plans and help groups build a more comprehensive benefits package for their members.
Review current drug lists: Prescription drug coverage can change from year to year. Encourage group administrators to keep an eye on our website so they can see the latest drug lists as they’re added.
Learning insurance concepts: We publish articles to help group administrators and members understand insurance terms and concepts within the “Connect” section of our website.
By leveraging these resources, you can help set your groups up for success during this busy time.
